BBB=Bodybuilder Brit. I’m a student at the University of the Best City Ever pursuing a degree in Food and Beverage Management. No, I’m not planning on being a Mickey D’s shift manager (though I do miss their fries). I’m 20 going on 40 and am attempting to balance working and going to school full-time while still acting like a reckless college student. I’m surprisingly much better at the former, but am working on changing that. 🙂
Until recently, I thought that managing a cafeteria service in a corporate setting was the path for me. That changed when I discovered the wonderful world of fitness. The REAL world of fitness, not the “I only eat raw veggies and run five miles a day” fitness world, but the “It’s feeding time and I have to eat 4oz of chicken, a serving of whole wheat carbs, and some steamed veggies NOW!” world. I suffered in that other realm for way too long to have been considered healthy, and I feel great where I’m at now. My field of study makes it pretty difficult to avoid indulging in rich and decadent meals, but I’m discovering my own ways to survive the hospitality and fitness industries simultaneously.
When I finally decided to change my life and aim for the goal of someday competing in a figure competition, I found it difficult to explain the exact body type I was working towards. So, to make it easier, I just told my friends and family that I was going to start “bodybuilding”; and I would be increasing muscle mass and decreasing body fat. A close friend of mine started calling me Bodybuilder Brit, BBB for short, and it just stuck!
I’ve brought a few people over to the light side of food and fitness with me. So I want this blog to be a place where I can not only share tips and tricks that I learn along my way, but also where I can track my own personal progress to inspire others!
